Sajida Foundation and Purnava Ltd organised a Health and Wellness Fair 2017, focusing on mental health and comprehensive well being on April 15, at the BRAC Centre. The event is being arranged based on the month observing World Health Day, which this year focuses on mental health. The Fair launched Sajida Foundation’s Psychosocial Counseling Centre situated in Banani called Inner Circle, which offers a range of psychosocial counselling, training and workshops through a team of qualified and experienced counsellors and trainers. Famous media personality, actress, counsellor, and Ekushey Padak award winner Sara Zaker, and Group Operations Director of Asiatic 360 Sriya Sharbojoya inaugurated the fair. The fair included various kinds of innovative and therapeutic psychological activities conducted by Inner Circle, discussions with expert speakers, yoga and poetry presentation all day. Besides, there were relaxation corner, self-help corner, artists’ corner, and psychological corners facilitated by Inner Circle. These different corners offered activities regarding mental relaxation therapies, psycho-aroma therapies, and different interactive activities regarding mental self-care. Inner Circle provided free psychological and health check-ups for the visitors of the fair. A poetry workshop was taken by Ampersand. The day-long fair ended with a concert named ‘Healing Circle,’ by Armeen Musa, Shayan (Farzana Wahid) and Anusheh Anadil. Established in 1993, the organisation’s comprehensive health care covers both physical and mental wellness with two modern hospitals, community health program, home health care, an institute of health science as well as a psychosocial counselling centre.
